What makes healthcare software different from ordinary web work?
Two things: the cost of being wrong, and the obligation to prove you were right. Clinical and compliance systems are judged not only on whether they work but on whether a third party can later reconstruct what happened, who did it and under which rule. That turns audit trails, role separation and data retention from nice-to-haves into the first design constraints rather than the last.
The practical consequence is that the schema comes before the screens. Once a system holds patient records or regulated compliance evidence, changing how that data is separated and retained is not a refactor — it is a migration with legal implications.

How do you handle regulatory compliance in the build?
By treating the regulation as a specification rather than a checklist applied afterwards. Legionella 360 was built against ISTISAN 22/33 from the first schema: the risk assessment structure, the sampling record format and the retention behaviour follow what the regulation requires an operator to be able to demonstrate.
That is the general pattern. Read the obligation, work out what evidence it demands, and design the data model so producing that evidence is a query rather than a project. Compliance features bolted on after launch tend to produce reports nobody trusts.

Can a healthcare platform be multi-tenant?
Yes, and for compliance software serving many facilities it usually should be. Legionella 360 isolates each customer facility at the data layer, so one operator cannot reach another operator's assessments or sampling records regardless of what the interface does.
The alternative — one deployment per customer — is simpler on day one and considerably more expensive by the tenth. Deciding this before the first schema is one of the few architectural choices that is genuinely hard to reverse.
Do you work with existing hospital systems?
Yes. IntelliMedsol was consolidation work: the departments already had tools, and the problem was that none of them agreed. Integration and data ingestion across existing systems is more common in this sector than greenfield builds, and it is where most of the difficulty actually sits.
Where an established Microsoft estate is in play, I work in ASP.NET MVC and SQL Server alongside Angular on the front end, which is what IntelliMedsol runs on.

At the data layer, not in the interface. Legionella 360 is multi-tenant with per-facility isolation and five separated user roles, so what a user can reach is enforced by the model rather than by which screen they were shown.
Do you sign NDAs before discussing a project?
Routinely, and in this sector I would expect to. Several projects in my portfolio are published anonymised for exactly this reason.
